About Us

More Than Medals!

A Lifetime of Excellence. A Commitment to Helping Others Thrive.

Two-time Olympian, Five-time National Champion, Entrepreneur, Lifelong Advocate for Wellness, Recovery, and Peak Performance.

The lessons a lifetime of performance taught me about recovery, wellness, and living stronger.

I was 18 years and 8 months old when I competed in my first Olympic Games.

I wasn't prepared for the Olympic experience.

And I certainly wasn't prepared for the lessons it would teach me about performance, recovery, resilience, and life.

But perhaps my journey began much earlier.

I was seven years old when I won my first sprint race on the Savannah in Trinidad & Tobago. Two years later, after my family immigrated to Toronto, Canada, I won my next race in the hurdles at my local grade school.

I didn't know it then, but those small victories would begin a lifelong pursuit of excellence that would take me around the world and eventually to the Olympic Games.

By the age of eighteen, I represented Canada at the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics.

I went on to compete internationally for two decades at the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, World University Games, Pan Pacific Games, and numerous other international competitions. I was selected to Canada's 1980 Olympic Team, although I was ultimately unable to compete due to the boycott of the Moscow Olympic Games.

Along the way, I became an NCAA All-American at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, won multiple conference and intercollegiate championships, earned an NCAA bronze medal, and established the University's long jump record at 8.14 metres—a record that still stands today.

But if you ask me what I value most from those twenty years of elite competition, it isn't the medals.

It's the lessons.

I learned that mindset is one of the most powerful tools we possess.

I learned that discipline matters.

That consistency often matters more than intensity.

That resilience is built one day at a time.

And perhaps most importantly, I learned that peak performance isn't what defines us.

Our ability to recover, adapt, and continue striving for excellence throughout our lives does.

My high school and Olympic coach, Walter Kostric, often said:

"Life is a balance of three areas: Studies, Social Commitments and Sport. You can only truly excel at two."

For me, sport requires sacrifice.

But it also taught me focus, perseverance, humility, and respect for the incredible capabilities of the human body.

It taught me how to perform.

But it also taught me how to recover.

How to rehab.

How to adapt.

And how to appreciate both the strengths and limitations we all face throughout life.

Because life changes.

And so do we.

I retired from active competition in 1992.

Since then, my body has changed.

I gained weight.

Recovery takes longer.

Mobility has become more important.

Strength alone is no longer enough.

And I have come to appreciate something I never fully understood as a young Olympian:

Consistency beats intensity.

At eighteen, I chased medals.

Today, I chase health.

·         Strength.

·         Mobility.

·         Longevity.

And the opportunity to remain fully engaged in the things that matter most—my family, my work, my community, and my continued pursuit of personal growth.

Excellence is still one of the great drivers of my life.

But today, excellence means something different.

It means:

• Staying healthy
• Being present for family
• Continuing to learn and grow
• Helping others thrive
• Living intentionally and with purpose

And that is why I created SoBo Worldwide Recovery & Wellness.

After decades competing at the highest levels of sport, I became obsessed with one simple question:

How do we recover better, move better, perform better, and live longer?

Now, I share the products, philosophies, and practices that I trust.
